How exciting it is to serve Hamilton United Methodist Church! As you look over our webpage and our calendar, you will see how active our church is in making disciples for the transformation of the world. Our Methodist tradition from its earliest days has been active in the world and in helping the least and the lost.
While our denomination has doctrinal standards and beliefs, we place a high emphasis on the practice of our religion. John Wesley, our founder, believed that there could be no religion that wasn’t a social religion. In other words, he believed that you had to practice your beliefs out in the world and not just when you were inside the church building. He also stated that it isn’t what we do for the poor and the least among us, it is what our being in ministry with them does for us. Working in ministry with others who are less fortunate softens our hearts and enlightens us that but for the grace of God we could be in their shoes.
Hamilton UMC is a multi-racial and multi-cultural church that lives out what the Kingdom of God looks like. We are a loving and caring community of believers who are here not just to serve our members–we are here to serve those who aren’t members yet–and even those who may never join us.
If you are looking for a church to visit or join, and if you want to make a difference in the world and in your life, please consider us! I would be happy to meet with you to discuss with you how you and your family can become a part of this church community and in what ministries you may want to become a part.
